Default Honda Accord EX missing on one cylinder at idle only

1992 Honda Accord EX with 220,000 miles..........idles really rough all of a sudden. Pulled the plug wires one at a time.....all slow the engine except the one closest to the timing belt cover, although I could hear the spark firing from the wire. Swapped spark plugs, but same cylinder missing. Fine above about 1100 rpm's. I'm thinking maybe the injector, but would it run ok at speed? what am I missing?

Do you have a spare plug wire laying around to try, that might be the first thing to do. If thats not the problem, I'd check for a too tight valve adjustment and then a compression check.

i think i have the same problem as you..my idle is really loud and i cant figure out why..is this due to misfiring cylinders? Mine is not only in idle but when i drive to...sorry for hi-jackin thread.

this is to hondadude mainly.......sorry, I did try a different spark plug wire with no change.....valves have never been adjusted, but remember, this was a sudden change.....ran fine only days ago, so I doubt if the valve clearance changed. also, compression was 150 psi. what happens when 1 injector stops working??

If the plug and plug wires are fine and you pull the wire and it does nothing, it's probably a bad injector. With that many miles I'd try getting all new ones if you plan to keep that motor for a while.

i did a motor swap for one of my buddies in his 95 accord he went from non vtec to vtec and when i started the engine up is was running kinda ruff, i pulled the #1 plug wire and was not firing at all so i changed the distributor and the #1 plug started firing.
