im thinking about having my a6 block bored .20 over. is there any type of stock piston that is cheap and reliable while raising compression? basically i dont really want to pay for $400 or $500 for nice pistons? just wonderin....

look on ebay for a guy named quit-quit, he sells some high compression pistons which you can get oversized. I bought some of the low compression ones .020 over for my A6 and they worked great untill one of my rods busted. I believe there under $200 with rings.

88-89 integra pistons, dohc zc pistons,..Both will raise the compression signifigantly..

But then again you said you're having the motor overbored so the pistons may not fit..??

I used .20 P29's in my a6 block. Healthy dose of compression with the correct headgasket. I am glad for 93 octane at all the gas pumps in Dallas ! I have only got 25 miles on a brand new motor, but the 93 seems to be working just fine. I think you can get away with 91-92 octane.
