Wiring 97 dx to a 99-00 ex ecu, possible?
I am doing a miniswap with with my d16y7 with a d16y8. I know that I need to get a ecu with vtech and it needs to be a 96-98 ex ecu. My friend has a 99-00 ecu that he is willing to sell me. I have a chilton? I believe that is the name of of the manual, for my honda. In it show that ecu pins for my ecu and the 99-00 ecu they look similar with some difference in layout. I have search but mostly found topics with obd2-obd1 or about swaps. I am just wondering if it is possible to use those diagrams to hook up my 97 dx wiring harness to a 99-00 ex ecu? Any response is welcome. Thanks for looking
Sounds like you need an OBD2b-OBD2a jumper harness.
Beware though - make sure that every input the 99-00 ECU is looking for is satisfied. For example, the fuel tank pressure sensor - does your car have it? The 99-00 ECUs are all looking for it.

you need to either get the conversion harness or buy one of my 96-98 5 speed ex civic ecu's. will cost less to buy my ecu than to buy a conversion harness. 75 shipped to you if your in the 48 states
Thanks for the help guys. My wife move my manual on me, I had it out looking at the wire diagrams and set it down to go to work came home and she placed it somewhere. Look all over need to wait for her to get home from work. I will update you as soon as I find the book. civicvx I might take you up on that offer, I will let you know.
