i got a hf and there are no speakers in the back, theres a big whole behind the grill but no speaker,

i've heard of fitting 8"s there but how about 6"x9"s, i figure there is probably some cutting involved, but has it been done, how do they sound, does it rattle back there, cause theres not much to screw into

 

the si's come with 6"s right??

 

just get yourself some 5.25in mb quartz mids I guarantee you they will slam why go through the hassle of trying to modify speakers to fit when you can just buy speakers that will fit.

 

yup yup....i have mb quartz in the back and they fit right in

 

You need a mounting bracket-6.5" fit perfectly.I looked at every CRX in every salvage yard and none came w/the brackets so I ordered them from Crutchfield -they were cheap,and made of good thick steel.

 

i have the braket things for the rear speakers if anybody wants em... i gutted the car the day i bought it...dont need that stuff

 

I fit Kenwood 6x9s back there with no modification, and no rattles. Only two screws fit though.
