Two attempted thefts in 4 days time...sorta
First attempt:
Saturday, I went out to a Japanese restaurant with a group of friends to celebrate someone's birthday. Around 8 o'clock someone's car alarm goes off outside. I know how mine sounds like and that wasn't it. It was one of the restaurant's employee's car. The alarm stopped and we went back to eating. Well the waitress who was serving us asked if any of us owned a blue car. The blue car she was referring to happened to be my friend's integra. It turns out that the thief tried to take his car after failing to take the other car because he left the door open. There was nothing stolen or anything. My car was mysteriously left untouched from what I can tell. My car was parked a couple spots down, maybe 4, but it was parked next to my other friend's Honda Odyssey. Apparently the thief didn't see my car because it was blocked by the other cars or he had no interest in it. I happened to luck out on this one...
Second Attempt...well i wouldn't really call this a second attempt but it's interesting:
Tuesday, I was on my way back to the parking lot when I noticed a Celica stopped just in back of my car with 2 guys in it just staring at my car. I wasn't sure whether or not they were admiring it or if they were planning something, but they were there for a while just staring at it. I wasn't sure what to do, so i just pulled out my keys and hit the alarm. The 2 guys sure took off in a flash. They were swerving a bit and almost hit a parked car. What would you guys have done in that situation?

I would have written down the plate # of the Celica, then waited a minute for them to make a move either way. If they touch the car, call the cops and at the same time try to "discourage" them with whatever means I had (shouting, throwing rocks, etc.)
Your move was the safer one, for sure!

Wise move, but like the other said: get their plate next time, cause this next time, you may just luck out and get your car stolen and notice the same car at the scene of your car being stolen. Sounds to me, that it is fishy that they took off in a hurry when the alarm went off.
Keep her safe, i dont want to hear another horror story.
