Default tranny help

i have a 95 ls tranny,but i want to put b16 or gsr 1st 2nd 3rd gears in it.
can that be done,do it have to be hydro,or cable do the year matter.
I was told long as it was hydro it would work,need help.

Any B series tranny will work, they all bolt up to the block the same way. LS has the longest gearing, GSR has slightly shorter, ITR is almost the shortest B16 is the shortest. by short and tall I mean that when you shift in an LS tranny the RPM's between shifts fall about 700 to 1000 RPms, with a B16 tranny the fall from gear to gear is much "shorter" that means it keeps you in higher RPM's (this is good cuz all stock honda motors make power starting at about 5000rpm or this is where peak torque is located. But keep in mind noise and fuel consumption go up as your gearing gets shorter. goodluck. Might be wrong about B16 being shorter than ITR... they are probably pretty close though.
