It has 8000 miles and about the papers i don't know if he has papers because he says he bought the complete longblock from the dealer and deciding to go b20 vtec. I always wondered how do they put a vin # when you buy a complete new longblock from the dealer?

I believe new long blocks from dealers do not carry a vin #

it doesnt have JDM pistons in it, but 8k miles, you cant go wrong
easily worth 1400

Ask for PAPERWORK!!! For all you know, that could be a stolen engine from someones car, who used to post on this site! Bug him about all the relivent information and by all means, if it is stolen, do not fund the black market and give this 'potential' ******* another reason to go steal something.
$1,200.00 just doesn't sit right with me. Legitamate businesses are selling them for 5K and the stearership is around that price also.

I'm inclined to agree with Brandon; $1200 is really cheap for a '01 USDM ITR shortblock. You really ought to check out the legitimacy of it first.
If it's a USDM shortblock, the seller should be able to provide you with either:
a) proof of purchase from the Acura dealership
b) VIN of the ITR that it belonged to
Right? If the seller is not inclined to disclose this info, that should be a red flag.

Not only this, but you could also do yourself and everyone on this board an inadvertent favor and call the cops to make sure this guy isn't stealing our cars anymore.
