dizzy gone?
Ok so I am getting a code 4 and the car runs like crap (rev limit of 3200 rpm). My previous ECU burned and I "fixed" it and the car threw a code 4. I bought a used ECU and the car still throws a code 4. I check for continuity between the orange and white wire on the dizzy but my meter doesn't read anything. I placed the dial at 2000 in the Ohms selection but nothing. I also checked for continuity between the wires and groung and the meter, once again, shows nothing. I know continuity must be between 300-500 ohms, but if the dizzy is gone does that mean it won't read anything? Or am I measuring wrong?
as long as you have your meter set to "ohms" the needle should deflect or you should get a reading. if your meter has a ohmsx10 or ohmsx100 set it on that and you should get a reading if your dizzy is good. if it is not you will not get any reading what so ever. it will just say 0, which means there is an open circuit inside whatever you are testing, which means you need a new dizzy.
