they quoted me on a pretty decent price and I think im gonna get the JDm SiR hood from vis, just wondering if anyones bought one and how the fitment/finish is ect?

i have a vis cf hood. had it for about 2 years now.... the finish and the weave is nice, but after last winter it cracked everywhere.... this is the only vis hood i've seen that has done this. i've tried to take pics of it, but you really can't see it. Its only the clear coat so i can have it re cleared, but its something that i shouldn't have to do. VIS won't cover it or give me another hood. many hours on the phone bitching........

the fitment is pretty much dead on.

like i said though im a fluke so don't base your decision on this post.

personally if i had a choice to do it again i would get a fiber images..... the quality is flawless and the amount of clearance you get is great.

 

mine cracked as well. cf hoods are nice and all but can attract some unwanted attention(theives)

 

thats because cf is another version of bling.

 

I have both the FiberImages and VIS hoods and can say that the FiberImages piece is indeed higher quality, but you pay for that level of quality with the price they charge.
The VIS is worth the $$, in my opinion.
The only place the VIS has cracked is where the hood pins attach, and that was caused by a friend of the previous owner of my CRX. The guy pulled the hood release before unlatching the hood pins. It really isn't that bad, just the clearcoat is cracked a little around the hood pins. Structurally the hood is still fine.
Fitment is like OEM.

I dont think fiber images has an SiR one so im stuck on vis, I was just hopin it would be exactly like an OE jdm SiR hood.

 

im pretty sure tbone has a fiber image sir hood.

the fiberimages one is the best if you have the money for it. I had it myself, perfect fit and lasted long

 

vis quoted me 408 shipped to ILL, didnt seem that bad, I cant find the fiber images ione.

I have their hood meant for the jdm ef8/9 front ends. Fit is damn near perfect, given u do a little fine "tuning" with the rubber stoppers, lol, and the finish is nice too. Ive had mine for about a year and a hlaf so far. Still looks the same. I keep it waxed tho.

The Fiberimages SIR hood i believe is still on back order... call them. and if i remember correctly its around the same price as a VIS

 

it seems like the vis just needs a little extra care, I'l prob just go with that.
