I have a problem with my clutch cable I did not see mentioned in the searches.

It seems that each time I remove the valve cover, the clutch cable goes out of adjustment. Is the threaded part with the big plastic nut supposed to fit very tight in the rubber gromet? I think the problem is that the threaded part moves up and down in this grommet. Is that right? The metal cable seems fine, and it doesn't seem to get hung up.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
