Default vin number on the block

is there a vin number on the block of your motor and where would it be at. lately the cops have been makin people pop their hoods and see if the motor was stolen and i was just wondering where a vin would be. could someone post a pic or something

On the front side of the block at the bottom. OBD-0 and OBD-1 motors didn't come with VIN's on them.

Some may have VIN's, but I'm 99% sure Honda didn't put VIN's on all their blocks until 96.

I have a 95 and didnt come with vin.......bought it brand new in 95....i believe 96+ came with vin # on the tranny.....

that's kinda funky cause how would you prove that you didn't buy a stolen motor if you bought an obd0/1 motor from a friend?

Dont even worry about the vin because cops hardley check for that. When they look for the vin they look under the windshield and match it with your registration.

my buddy had to pop his hood for the cops like 6 times(twice in one day) which is weird b/c thats new around here and none of my other friends have had to pop their hoods for cops

I'd gladly pop my hood for the cops. I'm all for it if it means they are trying to stop Honda thefts. We should be allowed to gun down Honda theives on the spot.
