I have a mildly built h23 in a 94 prelude, but it has a auto tranny right now.(I know, I know, I need a 5 speed). I have bored the block 20 over, je pistons, pauter rods, port polished head, and for a couple of months, stock cams( ran out of money) and all of the bolt ons from cam gears to msd igniton, cold air, ect. NOW to my question, for the time being is there another ecu I can run, possibly one for a manual tranny. I have heard that the fuel and air curves are a little greater on the 5 speed car, but will this cause a problem with throwing codes, if there is any other ecu that I could use PLEASE let me know.

I hope that your block holds up with those forged pistons. There have been many issues with the FRM cylinders and forged pistons.

yes, h22 and h23 bare blocks are identical.

 

I doubt your setup from what you said, but there aren't really any other options for the P14, IIRC.

 

I believe Anthony (Precisionh23a) was running a p74 or a p75 ecu with his h23.

I believe you can use either of those with a hondata system.

i'll be running a p75 tuned shortly.

 

you can run a P75, P05, or P06...

with the you are gonna have to mod it to keep the CEL from coming on b/c of the o2 heater or some bs..

socket the ECU and go with Uberdata...

Yep, I ran the p75 when I ran hondata on my car. I now run AEM but that's a different story. I do a lot of h23 turbo builds and on every one that runs hondata I go with the p74/75 ecu.

 

Since you are using an auto tranny, you cannot use a 5-speed ecu. Your current auto ecu works with a transmission control module (tcm) in order to properly operate the auto tranny.

You could switch to a P74/P75 auto ecu. However, I believe there are a few differences for the auto tranny specific pinouts.
