Default whats good everyone...need some advice on a new transmission setup

whats going on everyone
well ive had my gsr for 7 months now...and some ***** going on with the tranny...possibly as small as the pilot bearing...but i had a buddy of mine who is ase certified..specialized in manual transmisions thinks its the bearings input shaft or synchros....
i cant afford the downtime to have the tranny rebuilt up to oem spec...plus this a great time to upgrade to a transmission with a lsd..i will also be upgrading the clutch and flywheel

the car will be turbocharged in about a month and a half but im going to use the money i saved up to buy a new tranny the clutch and flywheel

any suggestions?....as opposed to getting a freshly rebuilt gsr or ctr tranny and dropping in a lsd...i was thinking maybe a rebuilt or new type r tranny? how are the gear ratios like on the type r and ctr transmissions...

all opinions are appreciated
thanks

The US market ITR tranny, 96spec JDM ITR tranny, and CTR tranny have the same gear ratios as a B16 tranny, but used Type R tranny's are particularly hard to find and new ones are now going for over $2000. The 98 spec JDM ITR tranny has a B16 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears and a GSR 4th and 5th, but it also has a 4.785 final drive. It's even harder to get than the other R tranny's.

The only way to maintain the GSR gear ratios is to stay with a GSR tranny. Personally, I'd go for the ITR tranny and invest in a reasonable clutch/flywheel setup such as Exedy and Fidanza.

i dont think having short gear ratio is good for a boosting car IMO.

its not a crazy setup where once you hit boost the gears hit redline in a nanosecond...im just accustomed to my gsr transmission...

how much would it be to rebuild it? price? all oem parts...like i said i cant really afford the downtime..but if the price is largely different then its worth it to walk for a little
