racing tires? The new Hoosiers or the new Goodyears or Pilot Cup Sports
Does anyone have any race track experience with any of these tires? If so, how would you compare them to what you have previously used?
My experience has been on the previous version of Hoosiers, V700's and RA1's.
If so please share your impressions........I'm especially looking for a comparisome to the RA1.
Thanks,
Paul

From the race over the weekend the new hoosiers seem to be the most popular pick of the drivers. especially now sense the new tires have greater # of heat sessions you can get out of them before they go away.
The Michelins seem to like a lot of time to warm up. Last year a guy was running them on his Radial Sedan 944. He is usually 2 or so seconds quicker in qualifying but we would just barrel past him by the 3 or 4 corner of a sprint race and never see him again. He would have a faster race lap though. Lot of good that did him. He went to Hoosiers before the end of the season.
I can vouch for the Hoosiers as well. They are considerably quicker than the Toyos, in the NW 1.5-2 per lap.
I haven't checked out the new Goodyears but if they haven't fixed their 14/15 inch tire sizing, I would suggest that they will throw your gearing way off negatively.

When you say "the new Hoosiers" are you refering to the S04s or the new, unreleased rumored S05s?
No race experience, but at HPDE's i felt considerably faster on the S04's than the S03's - They wore out more quickly (ran out of rubber) but that may have been a function of goign faster - My S03's "gave up" before i corded them, the S04's were still "strong" when i ran out of rubber.
I ran RA-1's before the S03's but i don't remember them well enough to compare - i do seem to remember them being more sticky to begin with, but not ultimately as good as the S03s - but i could be incorrect, as i said, my memory of them is pretty sketchy.
