Default spot facing

i have a gsr block bored to 85.5, if i spot faced the head to 85.5 would i have any sealing problems? thanks

It's not necessary. If done wrong and if there are spots where the gasket over hangs the chamber you're in trouble.

If you have it done, bring the person doing the work your head gasket you plan on using so you can ensure you won't run into the problem Rocket stated.

I have my head spotfaced and to be honest I miss my lost CC's and resulting loss of compression. You will have to mill considerably to get back what you loose from the spot face.

It does match the quench pad's back up again though. So, I don't know. I have never really seen a test that says this is better than that because of this.

i actually don't mind the lost of compression... actually im going from 13.8 to about 11.1-11.5 compression, i just wanna pump 91 octane now... but since you it does make much of a difference ill leave it alone. Thanks for your help! Rocket im ordering your RM springs and retainers tomorrow, the one tbone has, just wondering if you told kteller about that combo, since he doesn't know it. Thanx
