Default Partial tube frame CRX.

Been working on the chassis for about 3 weeks now and am getting near completion. Just need to finish electical up and the car will be ready to make some test passes. The stock mounting mounting location for front and rear shocks have been maintained to allow leagality in quick and hot rod classes. Many more development pics can be seen at http://s8.invisionfree.com/MS1...x.php? in the technical forum. All chassis fabrication was done in house. Up next is a custom fiberglass 1 piece front end. I had already started a front end a few months ago but the chassis dimensions have since been changed and will need to be redone. I'll keep you posted on progress. This car should be completed for the IDRC race at Palmdale in April.

Below are some pics after wheelie bar was fabricated, and electrical completed. Some test launches were done to verify rigidity of the chassis. Everthing felt very stiff and solid. All thats needed now is the fiberglass hood which will be done in house as well. Will be starting this week and should be done by the end of the month. I will have another post showing how that was done.

good thing you did it inhouse. it would suck if you actually had to pay for this thing.

You will have to add metal around both the fuel cell and pump to make it legal

yup, thats what we have all been since the beginning of this scene. We're constantly learning something new to get better each year. props to all the racers struggling to keep this sport alive.

You can ditch the distributor for cam seal like the exhuast cam. Unless your still using it for a signal.

You going to be using MoTeC with those coil packs? I think FAST came out with some software to support using indivd. coils, but I think it will only run them Bank to Bank. Ref. to the NHRA rule book for having your pump and cell right there. I forgot what we used around our cell, but it would go everywhere if you hit the wall and it would turn into a ball of fire for sure. Safety first I'd wait until you build those pieces before you start on the front end. Any reason why you went with an Air to Air instead of Air to H20? Or did you just get a killer deal on that spearco?

Other than that, looks awesome. What is that, -20 SS line running from your cell to your pump? Dayum. Good luck this season

I believe the tubing needs to be 1'' 1/4 0.65 wall for cromoly. And Accel DFI now has an upgrade for the gen7 that allows you to run idividual coils as well. You can datalog egts as well.

I running AEM EMS and 4 channel Iginition box. I'm still using the dizzy for cam and crank signal. Will eventually use a hauleffect sensor to get rid of the dizzy. I will be running an air to liquid PWR intercooler but for now I already had the air to air.

Car looks good, but you might want to check with the authorities on those shock towers. I had to weld the towers back on Prodrag's car when I did it, he had them cut back like that from a long time ago and they said it wouldn't fly. Gardella had to weld his back on a couple years ago too, and they weren't cut back nearly that far. Just get the ok from them now, it would suck to get to the track and not be allowed to run.
