Default TO BADGE OR TO DE-BADGE the RRRRR.

Well guys as you know there are always mad ITRs' getting stolen.

I was talking with a buddy of mine the other day and we were trying to figure out if this would have some effect.

If a thief is driving around a parking lot, or even just a regular enthusists is driving around, when they drive by the R the first thing that would catch there eye to tell them its an R is obviously the wing... then they would look for the stickers, this would tell them there is an R sitting right here.

so my question is, ive been thinking of taking the stickers and wing off of my car when i drive it as a daily, do you guys think as well that not having the wing and stickers would infact draw LESS attention to the car when it is parked inbetween other cars being it would look just like another integra???
just another little trick i might do to increase the chances ya know

I am seriously thinking of doing this... but just wanted some insite and help from you guys

Yes, as long as it's black.

You'd also be surprised how much less negative attention you will recieve on the roadways between cops and ricers and whatnot.

Been there did that. Worked pretty well for me.

Well, mostly like other integras but nothing hides the lack of side molding. You'd have to get steelies and covers or Milenias to hide the 5 lug like I did too.

Ask me whatever you like. There even may be pics of mine and a few others that way in the archives.

what's the point of getting a r if you're going to strip it down. might as well go buy a geo metro. your insurance will drop and no one will bother ya. haha

It is bad when you have to make your car look boring not to have it stolen. I have a PY R and it gets so many looks , I get reved on by just about everything.
I would layer your security and park it out of sight, As said above, you may as well drive a Metro to sleep better.

If you guys have had the motivation to rouse through the regular Integra forum (i know..it is pretty bad, but some good laughs can be found in there)..., you would find that many of these block heads are currently in the process, just bought and are installing, or thinking about buying a "Type R" rear wing.

I don't think taking the wing off may do to much. I think the stickers and the red emblems should be taken off. I think that may have more effect than the stickers and the wing...or better yet, do all three.

While your at it..take your front lip off and sell it to me

1GREYTEG's suggestions makes me think of some kind of silly invention where you can clip this center rim looking thing onto your wheels which makes it look like a four lug. I think it would be kind of hard to design without it looking cheesy though Just a thought *shrug.

Show pictures when your done!

Aloha,
Brandon

I dont have a front emblem, just a rear Honda one. I know a lot of people have suggested taking off the stickers and badge, but its an R, and be proud that you have one *sounding like a mom* Change the wheels like some of the suggestions and it would look good w/o badges, but keep the stickers on the side, they are the rare sticker breed that aren't rice

Debadge. Still hot. I get less noise because of it, except for kiddies that think they're cool and say "Hey, that's not a real Type R, why'd you put that wing on it?"

Oops, I missed one.

Mine's debadged. The only looks I get usually are people thinking that I'm a ricer (And they make notice of their expression to me vocally all the time)
Even with the JDM front!

I guess it helps a little in deterring potential thieves.

That's what has worked for me. After being hit a few times and all the door dings from driving it daily nobody really looks at it anymore.

Boy do I dream of the day when I can get all the bodywork fixed and find me a beater.

regardless if you hide it like greyteg. point is, you still cant really do a whole lot with the vehicle. thieves will jack an integra whether or not it looks like a type R.

but yeah, white/black is definately more low key than yellow.

do i regret yellow? not really. it was a chance to buy a Type R, which was hard to come by in this area. does it really make a whole lot of difference?

"regular" integras are still one of the most stolen cars in the country. still very high risk to be stolen, with or without stickers, millenia wheels, wingless, etc. removing the stickers might cut back on those infamous "challenges" we all get on public streets, but I doubt it will affect the odds of it getting stolen. people that steal ITRs just bc they are ITRs know what to look for. get good insurance and make sure they will cover you in full, layer security, and hope for the best.
