electrical prob?
so im on a lil bit of a road trip, in my 89 dx hb, LA to SF. i get bout half way and the batt light comes on. and i like wtf. i pull over open the hood and nothing i can tell is wrong. i just replace the batt not too long ago. i get back inside and in park i rev it and it goes off. so i keep goin and then it comes on again. i punch it, it downshifts and the light goes out. then i begins to rain so wipers lights on and traffic freakin crawling, the light comes on so i put it in third and doin 50-65 the light comes and goes. after getting on a freeway about 70-75mph its fine lights stay bright. the windows start to fog so i turn the windshield def on. and its fine for awhile, then the lights start to dim and my car starts crapping out. wtf again. i pull over turn everything off sit there and giv it some revs and the light goes off, light are bright again. so i continue, and it does it again: i pull over rev it charge it back up till the light kick up again and finish my trip. by the way this is in the bay area around 8pm, 101-380-280. what is the deal with you guys up here 40 freakin mph on the freeways???? goin that slow the batt light is come on put it in third and it goes off till i lift the gass pedal to slow, back on. i suspect the alt. so i went to go buy a new one. and they ordered from the warehouse and will be here round 4 (higher amp) lower amp in stock but figure get the better one. i open the hood and plan my attack on repacing it it looks like there's no freakin room to get the damn thing out, from the top or bottom. please tell me i dont have to take the intake manifold off to change the damn alt.? and i dont have my jack with me and my car has a body kit on it so its bout impossible to get under it. please help guys. could it not be the alt. it seems like it is based on the light and rpms (no tach, just goin by the noise of my fart can

thanks so it gets removed from the bottom. while at the autoparts store i tried to find a repair manual and how the hell are they not gonna have a damn civic manual freaks. anyone think that it could be more than the alt.? or is the most likely
got the alt. out with out the jack. botom bolt the hardest, had to put a wrench on the end of the ratchet for leverage. but even if the master cyl came off it still wouldnt fit cuz the inner fender/upper shock mount will still be in the way. i ended up pulling it through under the mainfold and out the passenger side of the engine compartment. the the messed up part of the whole ordeal is that i went and got the alt tested and it freakin passed! wtf???? so more im stuck. alt passed batt new... wires look to be good still in the plastic loom cover and taped up...the wire connection was tight. what else could it be????
