Hello everyone...
I have an 89 Accord 4 door. Its a great car and I really want to keep it on the road, I just dont know much about front-wheel drive. So im going to take it to a mechanic (anyone know a good honda mechanic in Santa Cruz cali?) and I wanted to see if anyone had some insight on my problem so I can make my visit to the mechanic as painless as possible.
When I drive the car it runs fine, shifts fine....
When I am turning a corner and I have the gas applied there is a "crunching" noise....like "klik-klik-klik-klik-klik".
If I am turning a corner with no gas applied it makes no noise at all.
So, to me it sounds like I crunched a bearing....had this happen on a rear-drive vehicle few years back...anyone have an idea?
thanks a bunch everyone....I learn alot reading this mssg board...thx to everyone that keeps it goin!

Sounds like an outer CV joint; turn the wheels all the way to one side and have a look to see if one of the outer boots has split open and slung out all the grease.

Couldnt see a crack, but I suspect the grease did come out, as I could smell it every now and then.
I finally found a great honda garage near me. Rusty's on River Street, here in Santa Cruz.
1 new axle and boot $240. Drives like new.
