Fire System: Nozzle Placement
I am going to install a 3-nozzle fire system in my race car (thanks Kiwi for the awesome GB) and want to get some opinions on how you would prefer to mount the nozzles.
The instruction says that 2 nozzles should be placed in the engine bay and one should be in the cockpit under the dash. But my question is, since my race car is a DC2, the fuel cell in the trunk and the driving compartment has no separation (unlike a Z06 or 911 etc.). Should I still follow that "general" instruction that is not car specific?
Would you think it's a good idea to put 2 nozzles in the driving compartment (one under the dash, one by the fuel cell) and one in the engine bay?

1 in the engine bay, pointed towards fuel rail area.
1 in the driver area, usually under dash, pointed at lap/torso.
1 in the cockpit, spraying over the rest of the interior (cage mounted?)
Why is your fuel cell not separated from the passenger area? It should be. The GCR requries it - and for your own safety you should make sure it really is separated (and not just by a piece of riveted metal).

What I meant by "separated" is that there's no firewall between the fuel cell and the driving compartment like a 911 or Z06 or Ferrari etc. My fuel cell is pretty well enclosed with the appropriate material (FIA & NASA logbooked). But I just feel a little unsafe, knowing that the cell is right behind me with no firewall in between.
I thought of buying another T and split it out into 4. But that's probably not a good idea because the nozzles won't get the required pressure.

to do 4 nozzles you would need one of the bigger bottle systems..
granted, I'm running the OEM fuel tank, but I put 2 in the engine bay and one under the dash pointing at my feet/legs and important parts..
the other way to do it would be to put one in the center of the engine bay, 1 at the fuel cell and 1 on you like crack monkey said..
if you're that worried about the fuel cell, maybe you should do some other things to make it safer, rather than relying on the fire system.. or are you just worried?

Correct about the 4th nozzle - you'd probably want a larger system for that.
As far as the fuel cell - I've seen cars where there is just a rough cut sheet of metal riveted in place - wouldn't do much if the cell/lines leaked and the car rolled over.
