Anyone use one of these?

I was thinking about fabricating one for myself, (instead of paying $100 for a little piece of metal). But I'm not sure how effective it would be. Can anyone shed some light?
umm... you save maybe 2 inches distance between the wheel and the shifter with that. You gain a weak point in your shifting mechanism since you now have more parts that can swivel and fail. IMHO, the mechanism would be too cumbersome for too little of a gain.

I dunno if you could even call that "bling bling" I think "um, no!" would be more appropriate. If you were hell bent on moving the shifter closer to the wheel, a short-throw shift linkage and taller shifter arm might be a better solution. I don't really see the need for it, but hopefully those two pieces would result in a throw that is near-stock length and a **** that would be closer to the wheel. I think it would be a much more mechanically solid design.

I have suprisingly seen some people use them...custom fabricated
they don't really do much other than relocate your shifter...if the stock point suits you...then leave it. Less parts to break or come loose.
