Default Need some help with a 1994 accord im buying

ok here is what is does...

the transmission slips when you get on it hard but ...if you manual shift the car does fine.

now the guy im buying it from said he had it at a shop and they told him it was a cable going from the trans to the t.b.
he showed me the cable and it is streched bad.

IM NEW HERE SO HELP ME OUT GUYS.

ALSO IF ANYONE HAS THE CABLE I WILL BUY IT.
1 MORE QUESTION WHAT MOTOR SWAPS CAN YOU DO ON THE ACCORD

The cable should be adjusted so that just as the throttle plate moves/idle speed rises slightly; the pressure lever on the trans barely moves. I'm betting the trans has been trashed out, and now he's dumping the car.
It might be well worth the money to have the car checked out before you buy it.

well he showed me the cable and it is spliting at the t.b.....i can get the car for 2500 and its in great shape..im thinking about having a h22 droped in if i get it anyway...but it would be a few months before i did that.

if the car is in clean, I say go for it if you're planning on dropping the H22, but you will have to get that throttle kick down cable replaced and adjusted to specs otherwise shiftiong woes will occur. just my .02 cents.

I agree with hondadude:
I'd have it checked out. I would think most sellers would spend the small amount of money to fix/replace the cable (if thats all it really is) to make things right and get top dollar for the car don't you ?

well i know the guy good and he got the car in on a trade .and he said the cable cost like 285.00 and he didnt want to put any money in the car...but could the kickdown cable make it slip but when you manual shift it does fine...
