Default what's up with HT???

i've seen so many posts where people say..."search"...why are we even on HT anymore?...almost everything that people ask, has been covered many times...but there are times where you cant search to find what you want, because of the topic titles...and plus HT is a place to help people...so if a question is asked then it should be answered instead of telling them to just search...i know it can get annoying, but still, we are here to help each other...i mean we should just ban "new topic" threads since almost everything on HT has been covered...i'm just saying, since you have the time to look at a thread and post "SEARCH" on it, you probably have a few more minutes to answer the question or give an informative opinion...

yea seriously tho, sometimes people should just pass on by. When people tell you to search its like pulling over getting out of the car and telling a hitchhiker to go buy a car. Theres really no point.

I also second the fact that having someone tell YOU how to solve YOUR unique problem is nice, it always gives me a good amount of confidence.

I search before i post anything, but searching isnt the do all and end all of help.

if you don;t tell people to search, then this board is goign to turn into a cluster **** of questions that 75% of the members on here already know the answers to and could care less about.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by b20vtecTURBOnos &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i'm just saying, since you have the time to look at a thread and post "SEARCH" on it, you probably have a few more minutes to answer the question or give an informative opinion... </TD></TR></TABLE>

If people would take the few minutes to search instead of make the post in the first place, then you wouldn't have to worry about people bitching about it and tellingthem to search. Then we could cover more creative and ground breaking topics, instead of "what will may car run in the 1/4" or "how many psi can i run" and that type of repeditive ****

It's almost spring again and there's a hole new batch of noobs asking questions that are being answered on the same page they are posting on.Maybe as part of their trial they would have to search ten commonly asked questions.

yea, you do see a lot of repeat questions. like he said above, "how much psi can i run", or better yet "what can i do to make my car faster, i have $100". These sorts of questions are garbage, it's like they cant call up an import shop. I call up mine for 1/2 the ?'s i have, and we're both happy.

besides, searching is hella JDM.

If people dont as questions, there will be no forums..

Does it REALLY stress your life seeing someone ask a question that was answered?!

Or do you just feel better about yourself telling them to search?

Asking to search IS informative. The archives are overflowing with " should I get a block guard" etc...
Now I take a shot at the search before i post a question. The basics of most of these models are well documented. If I don't see what I'm looking for i don't hesitate to post the question.

It doesn't stress me, it just annoys the hell out of me, when i get on h-t and want to read something informative, so i'll run through FI or W&F. The problem is when all i find is stuff i've already read about, "where can i buy materials" its a damn sticky for christ sakes. All of these types of questions clutter up the board, and the members that get deeper into things (the kinds of topics that me and many others like to read) get pushed back like 3-4 pages becasue of all the b/s and they are hard to find.

I didn;t say dont ask questions. Just don;t ask the questions that you can search and literally find like freakin 50-100+topics about it

Weird, I searched for "things that will never change" and this thread came up.

No, I do agree, there are tons of posts on things that have been answered to exccess. I have actually NEVER created a new thread, as I have always found what I am looking for by searching, and usually just by looking at the first page of threads in a forum.

Do I get a prize?

it is true that most of the questions being asked is repetitive, and like someone said in the thread above "the site is getting cluttered up"...but how much more cluttered can it be? there's like 187438146 posts in every section on this site...and yes, everyone wants to just read new/ground breaking news, but honestly, how many "new" uncovered topics do you see everyday? one? two?...i think you're lucky if you can find one...and note, this site is called honda-"tech"...so you "tech's" who dont wanna answer repeated questions, don't...telling us to search is also cluttering up this site, if you're talking about cluttering this site...let the tech's who wanna answer, answer it...

and if there's alot of repetitive questions, maybe there should be an FAQ forum...and the moderators/admins can move the threads there...just a thought

It was an hour earlier for you but how does the next guy know it was covered an hour earlier? Oh yes, he really is going to look through all the gazillion threads posted to make sure there's a decent gap of time before he can repost the same topic. I say, take the stick out of you behind. If you find the question stupid, then don't waste your time. Let someone who is willing to help help. Quit being such dicks.

hahaha are you serious? Try using the search feature once. It narrows down the threads quite a bit when you type in the key word/words for what you are searching for.

If it was posted an hour ago then guess what.............. IT WILL BE UNDER RECENT CONTENT IN THE SEARCH FEATURE. god you noobs are such vaginas about this stuff

You know what though, not to rain on anyone parade, but topics like this are kinda useless. I mean it is a valid point that everyone on heres a dick (unless your buying from someone). The thing is nothings going to change with topics that just complain like this one. Look at what's happened already in what, a page? were just cussing each other and pissing around.

The bottom line is that there's a lot of good info on here. Search for it. If you HONESTLY don't get an answer that is satisfactory make a topic, and let everyone know. If you get flamed oh well, its not like they're declaring jihad on your nuts or anything.

I dunno whatever.

clif notes: This is Honda-tech, if you want help you'll get flamed. Flaming is a fact of life.
