notice to those fitting JDM integra type r wheels on 4th gens
this is a repost from my post at prelude-online, for those interested.

some may have seen my post in wheels and tires, and maybe this should have gone there, but whatever.
so those wheels (see them at passwordjdm.com) are 4x114.3, but as i found out before checking (unfortunately), they won't clear a VTEC caliper. that is, they can go on, but they are touching just barely, and no chance in hell i was going to drive that to make sure. so, i ordered the Eibach prelude wheel spacers (5mm) and started installing them a couple days ago. the quality of the spacers are great, but the only trick is getting them on there.
when looking to see how to get studs in and out, i heard there was an open space to hammer them in and out and rotate the hub accordingly. if there was, i never saw it, because what we had to do was either get the hub pressed out, or do what we did and take an axle grinder to a portion of the dust cover and hub. we also had to use a bench grinder and grind a bit of the new stud heads down to slide on past the hub just barely. after all this is done, the studs slip in, thread them on, and the wheels are good to go. those of you with S or Si s don't need to worry (i think), due to brake size difference.
in short, if you are going to go with these wheels and you have a VTEC 4th gen, be ready to grind the hub /new studs a tiny bit or get the hub pressed out and in for you.
new wheels look awesome (especially with the new Bridgestone SO3s i got for christmas ). post pics as soon as i can (in the appropriate thread).
