Default Painting my own car, Hows this paint gun look?

Im gonna respray my Honda black, im not looking for anything incredible, just want something that looks pretty good. So I was looking around for paint guns, herd a couple people mention the harbor freight HVLP guns on here and checked it out:

http://www.harborfreight.com/c...43430

Think that would be alright for a one time thing? is there anything else I would need to buy with it?

like a POS. you'd be much happier with the paint job with a cheap Devilbiss or something.

take it from an experienced painter

for a first timer who wants a good cheap paintgun..get a Sharpe HVLP cobalt finishing gun...also get a Sharpe regulator..thats all you would need for under $170...i use Sata regularly but the Sharpe is still a great tool which i use all the time for odd jobs...get it..youll be happy with your finish i guarantee it

i painted my car with the same gn i just recommended to you

after its been sanded and buffed of course but still..its a great gun..

i dont know about spray guns..but devilbiss booth's are top notch ...spray guns are like tools..some swear by matco, others by craftsman, and others by snap-on...i swear by Sata paint guns because ive found them to work the best with me..ive used Devilbiss and didnt like it that much but they still produced a good finish..just not a Sata finish

I cant really justify spending $200 on a paint gun if im only going to use it once are there any other 'low dollar' guns that would do the job?

try going to the place where you planning to buy the paint and ask them if they can loan you a good spray gun for a small fee. If they are nice, then they will loan it to you

you get what you pay for..you say you want a decent paint job for a first timer but you wanna be a cheap ***...buy the betetr gun..its pretty cheap compared to a $650 Sata i use...get the decent gun..use it and then sell it for close to what you payed for it..youll be glad you did...if you didnt want to hear out opinion or take our advice you shoudl have thought about that before hand....but in the end its all up to you..if you wanna use a $30 gun go right ahead

those guns can work great.... for about one or two jobs then the parts wear out so if it is only for your car i'd say go for it

Not being a dick, but i have heard this a few times.. but the simple fact is, you won't be using the gun just once if you buy a shitty gun.. because chances are you will hate the outcome and paint that sucker again.. then you will wish you had spent the extra few dollars for the $200 gun.. that price isn't even high from what my friend says (custom paint and body guy.. f'ing awesome at it i might add.).

I wish my guns cost $200. Try buying 4 Satas and see how much that comes out too.

A good painter can use an autozone gun and still make a nice paintjob, but there are limits. Id look at a used GTI or SATA Because a nice gun can make a newb painter look experienced.

Hell yea, invest in a GTi, I own one and I would use it before I use one of the SATA digitals at work.
