I just blew my head gasket in my NA B20VTEC build (11.5:1 CR) and need a replacement. I was using a Mr. Gasket, but want to use something else this time. I'm bored over a little, so I need to get one that's 84.5mm. Has anyone had luck with an OEM gasket, or would you recomend using a Cometic one? Also are there any other brands I should look at? Thanks for the help.

 

if its an b20 block or sleeved ls use oem b20 gasket. if its a b18c block sleved ues a cometic or goldeneagle moded gasket. by b20 block was 84.5mm and the oem gasket was perfect.

 

I've got the Cometic 84.5mm on my CR/VTEC setup quite similar 84.5mm bore, cars never been started though because of more money issues, but I think it'll be fine.

 

So you people think that the OEM gasket should hold up? It's less than half the price of a Cometic, so I'm a little hesitant.

 

Anyone else care to comment on the head gasket choices? I'm likely ordering one next week, but I still really haven't made a decision on which one. I'm leaning a little more towards OEM, but I'm still a little hesitant.

cometic all the way ive used them for 3 years now and never blown a head gasket only motors. the gasket lasts longer than the motors! cometic hp's it a little thicker but and a couple more bucks but worth it!
