Default I want to go type R

hey guys I have saved up enough money to get a type R swap so I want your opinion. CTR or ITR? I'm swaping it into an 02 ep3. I also wanted to know if you guys know where and who I could trust to purchase it. I would like to get a whole front clip but if not I would just take the full swap. So if you could give me some information on what I might need to swap it out and what the differences are between the integra type r and the civic type r. Is one better than the other. I would appreciate it if you guys could give me some email adresses or numbers.
thank you

the integra has 5 more Hp @220.

the question im surprised more people aren't asking is; "How do i know im buying a Integra Typer R K20A?"

both engines say "K20A" on them don't they? and they both apear to be the same externaly. the only physical difference i could say is the ITR has a power steering pump attatched to the motor, and the CTR doesn't.

they are the same motor, the 5hp different come from the exhaust, header. not the motor, so buy whatever u want...
in a stock ITR and CTR, ITR had a better exhaust system and high end power compare to the CTR which has more mid-range power

the guys above me is right

the dc5r and ep3r k20 motors are the same exact motor, just different header and exhaust

so if your planning on getting a header and exhaust anyway, get the ctr motor, it will probally be a little cheaper

both of these clips run 6-speed right? yup, just get a better exhaust system. look around. papituyo was selling a k24 for 2500 w/o tranny i heard. slap on an ITR head/ CTR... then call it a project.

Yes they are the same motors.. CTRs JDM are rare. Also if you end up buying a Civic type R motor from european civic.. that is a rsx type S engine....

The civic type r ecu from japan is PRD
the integra type R ecu from japan is PRC

When you install the motor in the car, in order to bypass the local immobilizer, you will need to ground one of the ecu e plug pins.

yea the difference is the exhaust and headers in the extra couple hp but in the new 05 RSX-S it has a different redline doesnt it? its like 8.3 and its been a while since i drove a 04 or older but i remember it was lower then 8.3 wasnt it? why the difference?
