Help!! Will it be ok to put 13" rims on a crx with a d16y8
Ok so im swapping cars with this guy. Im getting a 91 crx with a 2000 d16y8 engine in it. Hes getting my 93 civic hatch dx. Ive got 13's and hes got 14's. We are gonna swap wheels cuz i have new tires with warranty.
Is it safe to do this wheel swap? Will it mess up the engine? Will it mess up the gas mileage and make it rev higher while cruising at 65 in 5th?
Im really not worried about looks, i just care about safety and effeciancy.
I already know if will give an off the line increase and that it will throw the speedo off.
Please help. I dont want to blow the engine or tranny.

You can get the spedo adjusted, i know that much..... but im not sure about the engine blowing or anything man. Ask your nearest auto shop....one of the real ones owned by real people, not the big name advanced n sit... they should know.
You're worrying about this WAY too much. Don't pop a capillary in your brain over it.
Overall tire diameter is what really matters anyway, not wheel diameter. Check here to compare tire sizes.

If it did it would probably be around 500 rpm more tops. And i think its less stress on the motor due to smaller wheel.
