I noticed it recetly, it seems any time that it like starts raining, or i drive on a wet road that might actually spray water up to teh undercarriage, and i stop, the car makes a nasty noise when i pull away, only once for like 2 or 3 seconds or so, then doest do it again at all. It sounds like my car dropped to the floor and is scraping on the road, kinda the same sound i heard when my friend was sliding across a median in his eclipse. Can anyone tell me waht it is? its only when the undercarriage gets wet i think, and it only does it one time, when i pull away from a stop, then not again until i drive in the rain again....

 

possibly a belt slipping ?

 

it sounds like metal grinding on the pavement though, wouldnt a belt make a squeeking noise? My belts ARE pissing off tho, some make liem squeeks but tis not a constant squall like squeek squeek squeek like 2 or 3 times a second, and then when i got to WOT i dont hear it, not sure if it goes awy or if my intake is just too loud.

But this noise is wayy different....

I'm with EK9, when belts slip they can make really nasty sounds.

 

could be bearings going out in alt. Should make a noise when cold also

 

No not when its cold, well i live in FL so it never goes freezing but its onlyw ehn its raining or theres a lot of water on the roads..

 

do you have a CAI? you could be sucking up water

 

i have a UR crank pulley, whenever it rains and i go over a puddle, it squeels/squeeks for a sec or so til it dries up, then its all good. check the fluctuatuon

check your cv boots to see if they are damaged.

 

im a car newbie, tell me what that is and where to see it. I did get my suspension fixed a while ago after a friend slid onto a median...
