Default How can Prelude be considered 2 + 2 if adults can't sit in the back?

My wife is 5'1" 100lbs and she cannot even sit in the back. Rear sits are useless unless you have kids under 10 years old. I think Lude has one of the tightest rear sits out there.

Has anyone had your friends sit in the back on a long trip?

I'm 5'6 and 145ish and can fit into the backseat of my car with a 5'10 200 lb passenger up front. I'll agree that it's small, but you can certainly fit a person back there. Does anybody else think the rear driver side seat should be the one that folds down and the not passenger one? This is in a 94, btw. I've heard 5th gens have a slightly larger backseat.

wow.... how can you possibly fit in there? with 5'10 driver up front, there shouldn't be hardly any space for your feet! I have 92 Lude btw...

I fit four people in the back once. 6 total. Me driving, my bro in front passenger seat, and 3 guys in the rear seats and a girl laying on top. Mines a 4th gen.

I also knew a guy with a 5th gen and he had a total of 12 people in his. Him driving, 2 girls in the trunk, 2 guys in the front passenger seat, 1 guy on the center console (with shifter between his legs), 3 guys and 3 girls in the rear seats.

The girl that layed in the back of mine was one of the ones in the trunk of his.

But I still consider my car a 2 seater...

its a technicality, its for insurance stuff in my eyes..

and a 2+2 jsut means that thers a rear seat, doesnt have to be a well designed one...

Well if it wasn't for the enoumus space taking storage area on your 92(I have a 92 also)...there probably would be more room back there. It does make sense what street_ruler just said. If it was a sports car, insurance would probably be a bit higher.

It is a naming convention from a time when people bought a "sporty car" and were having children. They could graduate to a family size car from there. As to adults -forget it. Even the Dakota is a squeeze for a 14 year old behind the driver (Club Cab). I have had my grandsons car seats back there and they fit-but that is also a task. Just my 2 cents

if anyone sits in the back seats of my car (which is rarely) they have to put the legs up on the center console

i have had 4 but that was on rare occassions where the girls didnt want to take any of their cars to lunch...

if i have 3 its usually a result of picking my sister up from school or something and her friend needs a ride. so i make sure that her friend gets the front and we throw my sis in the back
