Default mini me died today...any ideas?

so my d15z1/d16z6 mini me was running great for the last few days and then today i was driving...out of no where it starts to sputter and then dies...im going like 45 down a hill and i popped the clutch and it'd start up, and a **** load of black smoke came out...

Well, I got it to a parking lot where I checked the timing and it was still on. I could start it but it would only idle....if i would try to rev it up at all, it would backfire and pretty much die out

it kind of sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders only...

yeha so anyideas would help, as i said, i check the timing belt, that was still aligned correctly, no CELs other than the speed sensor (17) but that has been there for a long time.

thanks

Take off the dist cap and make sure the rotor is still on.

A compression test is in order.. but it sounds like a fuel problem.

Check for:

- spark at plugs
- injectors firing
- compression

It does sound like a fuel problem.

When I flick the key on, i can hear the fuel pump, i gotta pull the damn car into the garage and then i'll pull the fuel line and see if im getting fuel pressure.

I'll also do a compression test, i have a new set of spark plugs for it too.

i'll be back shortly with information

to you sir.

There is another thread about a d16a6 that i read prior to posting and this was the issue. When I read it i was like...nooo not me.. (I personally never touched this dist, it came on one of the motor's that i've bought and I put it on not thinking about it. Well I pull the cap off, and the rotor is spinning. So yeah. No rotor screw = ownage. Atleast I'm hopeing that is all it is.

#1 cylinder spark plug was dry. while 2,3,4 were all wet. I'm replacing w/ new spark plugs and might possibly switch that injector. Whenever I drive it, it will kind of sputter in low rpms, but once I get into higher rpms it drives fine. I think it mihgt be a fucked up injector.

#1 = 152
#2 = 154
#3 = 150
#4 = 147

I'm going to redo #4 when I go backoutside.

I know those numbers probably seem low overall, but this is a d15z1/d16z6 so the compression is like 7.7:1 or something like that =/

I will let you guys know if it is working after i replace the screw to the rotor.
