Default 82mm B16 safe?

in a serious dilema to use the Tech43 stroker kit for 82mm or 81.5 mm.

Would the stock sleeves be able to handle 82mm without any complications? or would i need a block gaurd for added insurance.

Also i want to use a GE block gaurd how is the reputation on that. ive heard some horror stories for blockgaurds in the past.

thanks guys

yea, stock sleeves can handle 82mm, but don't go FI or N2O.

GE Block Guard works great.

BE SURE TO INSTALL BLOCK GUARD BEFORE HONING THE CYLINDERS.

my guess would be that when you hammer the block guard in, it ever so slightly distorts the cylinders.
block guards are a waste of time, IMO.

but then again, i havent seen one since '01.. and it was a NuFormz pos. i've been out of the game for a while, so don't take my post to heart. for all i know, rocket makes a titanium coated triple flux capacitor ion block guard that works awesome.
but as for me, i've never used one and i've bee fine.

For N/A I wouldn't install a block guard. I don't think you will see the extreme cylinder pressures that you would on an FI application. Seems a bit overkill to me unless your planning on spinning this thing to 9,500rpm +

Well thats a given. What cams, IM and headwork do have. You should know about where it is going to stop making power.

Honestly I would ditch the block guard and apply the $100 towards something more productive. There are much better insurance policys to be had for $100. Try ARP main studs and ARP rod bolts.

Or use it towards Hondata S100. Or use it towards an hour on a dyno. etc....

To avoid bore distortion.
