Manual Brake Conversion
Anyone out there ditched the brake booster?
The beast in the avatar has always had less than ideal pedal feel, and also long travel since I bought it 13 (yes that's correct) years ago. In that time everything brake-like has been replaced at least twice, except for the lines. Since this is an auto-x car, I'm using stock pads, but these likely will get replaced soon as they have been on the car for a while.
Since the pedal feels like the brakes have low vacuum, rather than rebuild the booster (I do have a Honda sourced kit to do this), I think I'd rather just take it out, period.
Any factoids for this possible project?

PM SMSP.
He has done it to his H1 race car. Any experience? Well not that I know of. I haven't heard of anyone else yet.
Other's might be able to elaborate more.
I would like to here some more as well. It was touched on a little in his H1 Racecar build up thread, but not to much in depth.

Rob,
You might want to talk to Doug Gill and see if he or Grady have gone down this path. They seem to have gone down just about every path on those body style cars, so...
. That or try to get a contact for Lombardo.
Just some thoughts.

Eric:
I know Tom Lombardo had done it with his, one reason that I know of was to get room for the plenum box he has feeding the velocity stacks on his carbs. Seen a bunch of EW3's that have to trim the stack off on #1 with IR induction, because of brake booster interference.
I'll try the PM suggestion. I meet him years ago at the Harrisburg Farm Show when he was auto-xing the 3rd gen 4 door 1500 DX sedan in Stock.
From the last time I had all these bits and pieces off, which was a long time ago, the pedal linkage acts straight into the booster/master cylinder assembly. I'm thinking all it would take is a combo spacer/mounting adapter to get the brake master bolted to the firewall, with overall length critical so as not to bottom the piston in the master.
From the experience of dealing with an EG from time to time over the years, engines and suspensions aside, the rest of Civic stuff is pretty evolutionary.
