Default 270 whp on a Stock BLOCK ALL MOTOR K20A

It happened yesterday on 106 octane in New Zealand. ( Gary's car.. hondog in honda tech)

Mods that where already on the car,
Stock block and head,
Toda VTC killer cam gears,
TWM ITB's
DTR-FAB header, with megaphone muffler,
Link Plus programmable ECU.

Mods he added.
Mild porting, Inlet was port matched to the ITB's and the exhaust had some more mild work done.
Crower stage 2 3/4 K20A2 cams, Crower Vavles, springs, retainers and lockers.
New Factory head gasket. and an oil change..

He then took it to 9500 and made 270whp. Sorry, no graph on that run but it happened. Sorry about that. The owner posted the following

The car made 270whp but its outside the ever day useable power of the car. I decided for my own personal reference to push the car abit harder on the dyno. we produced 270whp between 9200-9500. But given I have a rev limit set at 8800 there is no point boasting a figure that I will never ever rev to. So I didnt even bother printing the Plots from those runs out, same as my 3rd-4th gear comparsion runs. The main reason to push it was to see that if we upgraded the bottom end the cams will continue to make power not start to fall off after 9k. needless to say the future potential of these cams and my motor I am extremely happy about. I will possibly keep these motor with-in streetable limits, possibly even running a 12.5:1 piston and te stock bore with aftermarket rods. So if I want to I could return the motor to daily driver duties. Given the results at 11.5:1 I beleive the increase in compression would net a 300+whp daily driver..
Also Given that these cams are going into cars that run under 9000rpm there is no point selling them as a 270+whp cam if they are rev'd to 9500 which is where they say and they do continue making power to.

For those that thinkg that these dynoack numbers are off compared to dynojet...

Look at the dynos before the head upgrade, and the itbs

with the itbs with stock motor

That is the best news I have heard for along time on this motor.

His best time was 11.7 and now with 40whp he is running it today to see the difference.

The K is most definitley the future of honda tuning. I know Hytech is making numbers close that that as well and hopes put out a kit soon capable of over 280 whp...

In the USA, a lot of dynopacks like churches give higher numbers. You can set them up to be really close to dynojets like Jeef Evans has done.

Gary is in new zealand, the origin of the dynopack. You can tell that he dynopack reads lower or even with dynojet by looking at the dynos I posted before ITBS.

In this case though, since the numbers are backed up with 1/4 mile runs I would not worry too much about the kind of dyno.

A 1850 lb car with driver running 11.7 with 220whp... tells me the reading is low. Anyway, that's just me...

A key thing I would not point out is that extra 40whp came by adding the cams and head internals and then simply adding fuel. No rocket science.

Props to Gary, he gets from me.

Thanks for good quality headers Danny.. I might have to get a proper 4-1 header at some stage aswell as a custom megaphone of you.. But I will wait to sort this set-up out first..

I hope to head back to the dyno this week for some adjustments. I have been talking to both my tuner and Hondata about some changes that NEED to be made, both are confident we can see even more power before the end of the week..
