Default Clutch question

okay, its time for me to replace my clutch. BUT i dont know what kind of tranny i have !!! i just bought the car swapped already (d16y7)

so im wondering if i can just go ahead and buy a 89 si clutch, and put whatever tranny back on with no problems, pr should i just go buy everything si?

ok, i know you don't wanna do this, but the only way to be sure (that i can think of) is to take the clutch out, count the splines, and measure the diameter. then compare it to one of the many lists that have been posted before.

Is it hydraulic or cable? If its cable its most likely the one that came with the car. If its hydraulic, then look at the label on the tranny and go from there.

Also, there is a code on the transmission if it is a cable tranny (L3), its near the starter. I don't remember the codes though...
