Default '88 Accord LX Timing Belt question about marks

Hi all,

I got a new timing belt on my '88 Accord. It seemed like the old belt may have been off, I would like your opinions before I put everything back together!

Old belt, I could NOT see the "T" pointer with the cam gear tick marks closest to the cylinder head. In fact, the closest I could come to any marks was the three marks for timing. Since this was my first Honda, I doubted the existence of a "T" pointer Car ran okay and got 31.5 MPG at 75-80MPH.

New belt, I finally found the "T" mark. To install the belt, I pulled up on belt to put tension on the tensioner and put it over the cam gear. Spin the motor 'round and 'round with a long handle ratchet on the crank and the "T" pointer & cam tick marks line up every time. Loosened the tensioner, turn cranck 3 teeth ccw, tighten tensioner back up and spin her 'round and 'round some more and still get the marks to line up.

SO, after I put all the belts on is she gonna run? Am I going to have to set timing on the distributor?

This is really my first TB so sorry for the newbie questions.

Brian
