Mugen MR5 rivet/bolt torque specs?
I have some Mugen MR5's I want to take apart to repolish (since theyre 2 piece). Does anyone know the torque specs I need to tighten all the rivets/bolts that hold the face on to the rim to? i searched but the only guy that asked that question before, hasn't posted on here for over a year.

im not sure on the torque specs, but i remember reading somewhere
that your not supposed to take the apart and put them back to together yourself
they need to be rebalanced and torqued in a certain sequence or thell never be true again

beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee VERY VERY VERY CAREFULL with that
i took mine to a shop to have them polished
they came back looked great, threw them on the car drove all day and then nightfall, took a corner one wheel completly seperated, the bolts were overtorqued
sold that set. got a new set had those polished at a different shop and i have had good luck.
i talked to the guy in japan that i got them from and he said for liability reasons mugen wont release the torque specs
so do this take a torque wrench with you when you take them apart good luck

Yup, each bolt should have loc tite and then bolted up/torqued.

I've taken them apart and put them back together again. It's not a big deal. Just loc-tite the threads and torque them up to 10 ft/lbs of torque. That's a little more than hand-tight. They are small bolts, and there are a lot of them, so they don't need to be cranked too tight. Besides, you are boltin them into aluminum, and you most definitely *DO NOT* want to strip the threads out of the rim. As long as you are consistent with the torque, using your 12 point socket, and you torque them down in a criss-cross pattern around the rim, you should be perfectly fine.

Its more than 10ft/lbs b/c when I dissembled some blitz it was alot tighter than 10ft/lbs.
I'll find the exact amount soon, I just need to take them out the boxes b/c there are 2 I haven't started on and a the new Snap-On Tech Wrench (digital torque wrench) will read ft/lbs in/lbs in both directions.

Yup had to bring it from the dead......
So did anyone ever find out the torque spec on the MR5's??
I just got a set also and you can only polish so much withOUT hitting the face so it would be a lot easier to take them apart.
