Mugen MR5 Bolts torque
I have some Mugen MR5's I want to take apart to repolish (since theyre 2 piece). Does anyone know the torque specs I need to tighten all the bolts that hold the face on to the rim to? i searched but the only guy that asked that question before, hasn't posted on here for over a year.
Hello,
I noticed your post about the MR5s. I just purchased a set. Did you ever receive a response to your torque question?
Also, how did you polish the faces of the wheels? I have some surface scatches on mine. Can these be removed? I assume that you have the "alumisilver" ones like mine (i.e. unpainted or clearcoated).
Thanks for responding.

Hows it goin man. I made another post about it and got a couple responses that might help you. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1161771
I decided not to take them apart afterall. I figured its a little too risky to take them apart and put them back together with no exact torque spec, plus I'll ride on them and always wonder if theyre gunna hold so Id rather be safe and leave them in one piece.
Yea I have the silver ones too, I haven't had the time to restore them yet though
. Im not too sure about how to refinish the faces, but on the lip I am going to have to strip all the clear coat on it off, then repolish them. The faces on mine arent too bad but there are a few spots thatll need restoring. I'll let you know if I find out anything on the faces

Thanks for the feedback.
You mention in the post about some wheel polishing kit. May I ask what this is and how I may be able to buy it?
Thanks for replying.

Sorry for the late reply. I got the kit from Home Depot. Its just a polishing wheel you attach to your drill, and it comes with 3 or 4 polishing compound sticks. All you do is apply some compound to the polishing wheel, then polish the rims with it. Its about $10 i believe, I used it on my lip when i was restoring my rikens...
