I'm only at half a tank and have gotten 200 miles out of it...
Ever since I've replace my distributor cap and rotor and filled the tank up all the way (first time in a few months)I decided to see how good of mileage I could get, I've been crusing in 4th gear at 30 mph to keep rpms low and coasting down hills in 5th. And I've managed to get exactly 205 miles to just half a tank, when I usually got 200 to 3/4 of a tank.
my car is a 1992 Si. I fugured I'd post this since in the mileage thread a few months back I read of people getting only 250-300 to a FULL tank

lets see what you do when use the full tank. Right now I have an h23 with an f series tranny. and I get 390 to a tank higway. and I do not drive conservatively.
i've gotten 445 with an h22 with h23 tranny with bad alignment and a sticking brake.
i average around 400-410.
i average around 400-410.
I get 225 miles at the halfway mark on the fuel guage.
Mostly city driving I get 375 miles to a tank.
Mostly highway, I get over 400 easy.
I drive conservatively.

I just bought this car. havnt done any tune up. and to tell you the truth I havnt let it go down that far yet I always end up filling about 14.4 gallons I know its got a 15.9 tank so I should get over 400 if i do. my old lude didnt have a low light and the new one does. I dont like it.
wooo i wish i had those kind of mileages on my lude maybe its time for me to get a tune up and fix my aligenment and balance my wheels

Stay out of VTEC and you'll save oodles of gas. Also, try replacing your O2 senor, distributor cap and rotor.

Ummmmm why would you replace an 02 without seeing if it works right or not, check plugz, wirez, rotor. A lazy 02 is goig to make problems more noicable than just poor gas milage most times.... If your 02 is swithing regularly above and below .450V your doing fine. It is best to see low and high switches. IE. .150 then .800 then .200 and.750 or soemthing like that. If you see .400 then .550 then .400 then .500 or something like that that repeats consistanly then its time to replace your o2. 4 wire O2s arent cheap...If it aint broke dont fix it.

Worst Ive ever got on my 92' VTEC was 170miles on a tank.
Best I have ever got was 405 with the Fuel light just coming on, Alately I've been getting around 240miles per tank! :-/
I need to kick the VTEC habit. I'm addicted.

Of course i haven't gas on vtec. I drive normal on a full tank of 91 gas and i hate to see a bar disappear every 10-15 minutes. I just recently changed rotor, cap and spark plugs. What can it be? o2 sensor? help..thanks
I dunno what I get to a tank but i do get 30-35mpg with a 95 h22 in a 93 civic....Thats highway driving normal.

you have a problem
i mean, most of us turboed ludes get atleast 250..i get like 300 for 13-14 gallons.
does replacing a distributor really save gas?

Did you mean the whole distributor that cost around 200? I wonder is it really the distributor that cause a poor mileage.. I dont see anything wrong with my distributor though. LAst night i pumped $10 gas which got me around 4 1/4 gallons, drove to a friend's pad for 50 miles and it has one bar left on the gas meter. Is it normal or my motor's a pig??
