if its the same as other blocks..then there wouldnt be different kinds... do you just think d series motors only have different heads?

hold on.....all i asked is "are they the same". i just happened to have a d16a1 engine kicking around and was thinking i could use the block and build a mini-me. i guess not. i never understood why people get so pissy when someone asks for help. this is supposed to be a place where someone can go for help, not to get flamed on for asking what i thought was a reasonable question.

the d16a1 block isnt the same as the other D series blocks because its a dohc , you cant do vtec on it because there are no dohc d series vtec heads that will bolt onto it.so basically, just remove the d16a1 pistons and place it in a sohc d series and you got a high compression motor

No..Those motors are weird..They shouldnt even be called a d-series..

are you referring to the d16a6 out of the 2g CRX Si?

The 1g CRX Si has a ... **** I believe its still only a d15 but it could be a d16.. something.

But none the less the D16a1 is from 1g Integra. There was a browntop (86-87) and a blacktop (88-89), this refers to its valve cover and there is a difference in the motor its self.

There is also a 1g ZC. And a 2g ZC. The 1g is from the 1g JDM (I am not sure if they have it in EDM or Austrailia).

hmmm.. if my memory serves me correctly the pistons will work. it will raise your compression significently (sp). You would have to run higher octane fuel to prevent detonation. But I am unsure how much for compression.

You have to modify the valve reliefs on the d16a1 pistons to work..Because they are further apart then the stock d16z6 pistons..
The compression will be around 11.2--11.5(I dont know the exact)

Make sure to run good gas and retard the timing as much as necessary to reduce the pinging
