FEB. 24, 2005 MY 88 REX R.I.P.
Long story short... i T-boned a DUI Driver last night around 9:30pm going to work... now my REX is totalled... (for the record this was not my fault)
this is my first accident ever... so basically what happened in a nutshell i was driving to work... minding my business like any other night going to work... saw this CHEVY SILVERADO on my left (in a small intersection w/ a stop sign ahead)...slowing down... so i thought he was going to stop cuz of him having a stop sign ahead... this was like about 100 ft or so before coming across to that intersection... well the damn-*** started to roll... instead of stoping... so i started to push my horn(hoping he would stop before i got there) (i was going about 45mph at that time).... well the damn-*** pushed more on gas so my reaction was to step on the brakes and then steer left to try to avoid (*note: if i didnt steer left where he was coming from i would have probably hit this passenger side door)(but it was too late )... last second before impact..... all i heard was me holding down on that horn and seeing myself impact that rear passenger tire..... i did a 180 to the right shoulder... and that pickup truck went flying in a empty lot... on the other side of the intersection of where he was heading to.... that fools comes up towards me and saying why call the cops.... well it wasnt me.. it was the other drivers who was passing by to help... turns out to be when the cops got there he was drunk... charge wid DUI and i got to go to court to testify... and the worst part of all he had no insurance.... no imagine that...
fool had no Drivers ID and no insurance.. just registration... i am yet to find out if the cops ID the DUI driver yet later today...well back to my rex... when i was checking MY REX up the front bumper is gone... the bumper lights... the radiator gone... the engine is probably cracked... leaking oil all over... frame is up 2ft where the radiator suppose to be... so why the REX is totalled... R.I.P.
the only i really got to be thankful for is that i am still alive
i imagine any few seconds earlier it would have been my getting hit in my driver side w/ a CHEVY SILVERADO (those ******* are big)imma talk to the insurance company right now... and then i will get some picks of the REX (RIP) and post it up later in the afternoon... i just got a lot of **** to deal wid right now and thought i would share...

Im sorry to hear your loss. I recently got in a fender bender with my rex and its killing me to see it out of comission. I cant imagine completely totalling it! Glad to hear your ok.

That sucks big time! Glad you're ok though. Good thinking on the turning to the left part. DUIers suck! And with no insurance! Who would have thunk it? ***!

Stick it to the man , to give him a lesson and to others as well. rolling around in a killing machine weighing 5000lbs pounds while drunk is STUPID and senseless.

Drunk drivers can eat my chode.Do whatever you can to him, teach his dumb *** a lesson and hope he never drives again. Make them put a ******* breathalizer in his moped. Anyone that makes a choice like that is a true t00l.
I'm sorry for your loss, and everyone is glad you're ok. Lets all hope another crx comes your way.

I saw the aftermath of one drunken wreck when i was young. The family in the mini van all died within 2 days, and the man in the (you guessed it) silverado had a broken arm. And a beer in the other.
After my aunt (an EMT) beat the **** out of him, the heli got there and the mom was evaced to Albuquerque. She died in transit
You got luck, drunks should go on death roll. Not get 13 DWIs and get out the next week, like here in New Mexico X 1,000,000,000

Fellow rexer I feel your pain I was on my way home a year and a half ago and was t-boned by a drunken 19 year old. I was unconcious and had to be cut outta my ride the kid hit me on the drivers side door. His bumper pushed the door in to me and me in to the steering wheel in to the dash my rex became supeeeeerrrrr duper mini compact. I was lucky God was with us on our days. What don't kill you makes you stronger.

sux, but nice reaction to prevent worse injury to you.
glad you are ok. that crx crumpled to protect you, and that combined with your seat belt and good defensive driving prevented a worse fate.
don't let it get you too down, b/c you couldn't help it.
get another EF and make it even better.

Man our rex's are gonna become extinct Glad to hear ur okay.
EDIT: ohh yea u know the morom has $$$ since he is rolling in a silverado, so hopefully u come up on the situation. So as long as ur straight, u should be getting a fatty pay check for going through all this **** And if ur a down Rexer then ull build another rex 10x better then the last one

Glad to hear you made it out a live. I lost my Integra sedan from a silverado biotch over a year ago. I got the 91 hatch now. You are blessed that you are ok and not RIP along with your Rex. What are your plans now?

Sorry to hear man. It does suck we have one less Rex rolling out on the open roads. There are plenty of ways to look at the crash. I figure it this way, be glad he hit you and the Rex is gone. Because for all you know, he could have t-boned a car filled with little kids and killed them on impact...just my 2 cents. Either way, glad to know you're still alive and ticking.
