del sol vs mr2 vs miata
93 del sol s vs mr2 of similar year vs maita since they pretty much stay the same all years could the sol hold up with the entry levels......???and what would it take to make it able to
stock vs stock?
the Del Sol Si might keep up with a Miata, but its not going to keep up with an MR2 N/A or Turbo.

oh and i forgot about the Del Sol VTEC, but its still the same answer as what i said before.

The MR2 is a bitch to work on. Trust me on this.
Miata is a cool freaking car. RWD, light, and lots of potential. Don't worry about people calling it a "girl car". Also a drop top.
Del Sol doesn't really hold much allure for me. The seats are nice and that's about it. Agian, people are going to call it a "girl car", but now this one doesn't really have any cool feature.

i have a 93 del sol and when it was bone stock with 170,000 miles no turbo i beat a bone stock 95 i think it was mr2 none turbo at the strip as for miatas on the street ive beat 1 stop light to stop light but a stock turbo mr2 will definatly kill a stock delsol

My old 1st gen was a PITA. Changed the waterpump, could not even see where the mating surface was, so could not probably clean it/seal it back up with the engine in the right position!

Depends on what you want to do with the car... The Del Sol S obviously would have the most options to build onto, especially with all the Honda parts compatible and available
Stock for stock though, I think the Miata was proven in 1993 to be the "better" of the three, but only during that year, according to Car & Driver magazine.

keep in mind the miata isnt really for racing, its more of a handling car.my manager has one and he will smoke my *** on a road course.i have a 91 hb si with a b16 and he just has a stock early model miata. there more for handling than anything else.

i never said a Del Sol VTEC can take out Turbo'd SW20. he's talking about a a stock MR2...if it was A turbo'd one, it'd handle the EG2 in a heart beat, but a stock 130HP, I dun think so

If I had more time for the track I would. I just can't seem to give up the hatch space of my car (just brought home a full headboard in it last week).

You know there is a STOCK MR2 Turbo right?
The Turbo model Toyota MR2 has 200HP and 200ft/lb Tq, it runs a 14.7-14.9 in the 1/4, and can easily be woken up with just more boost and an open exhaust. With good cooling and a better turbo, and tuning, low 12's easy.

depends on what you're talking about. For quarter-mile i'll agree that the stock MR2 probably takes it. But i've been to plenty of solo2 events and the MR2 and Del Sol don't even come close to the Miata there.

Cant lie though, im really feelin gettin a Miata after reading Riceys post, i honestly didnt know they were RWD. The Mazdaspeed ones come with 200 factory horses now, im thinking about one of those.
