Default 93 Del sol s to si swap

ok lots of ppl asked this question and gettin the same answers. I havent been able to find the one to answer their question though. i have a d15b7 and i want to change it to a d16z6. Will i need to change transmissions???? its a manual. I wasnt sure since they are both D'series would it just bolt up. The computer i kno would need to be replaced because of the new vtec solenoid but how cheap can this swap run. i dont care about the hole get a b16 or go home stuff. Just some simple answers i would apreciate it. What do i need and how simple is it thanx

your car is an automatic? yes, you will have to change it, if thats the case.

if you mean your car is a manual, and want to know if you can use your B7 tranny, then yes, you can use your B7 tranny. the D16Z6 or D16Y8 tranny is much better though.

the B7 transmission has longer gears than the Z6/Y8 tranny. its good for gas mileage, but not great if you want some acceleration. Z6/Y8 has shorter gears.

is there a motor mount diff...i dont think so but would rather be safe than sorry. If i pay some one to do this how simple do u think it could be i.e vtec hook up. Im looken for a shop in new england. Other stuff id do but if i screw up my engine im fucked....if they screw up my engine well......im not

i think you can use the same mounts.

any D-series engine is a good beginner swap.

as for wiring, try Searching it. there should be a few threads about vtec wiring. unless you have the Z6 wire harness, then it should be easier.

all you need is the z6 tranny(if u want) or u can use your other tranny. motor, ecu, and have someone wire the vtec in for you.u can reuse the same mounts.

wrong. the del sol s and si's both came with the same tranny. check out the specs. same as the ex tranny for eg's the d15b7 in the civics came with the long *** tranny, but not the sols;
