Default droping motor, AC issue

hey guys, Im planing on droping the motor in my DX. and I was currious what to do about the AC? I dont want to pull the compressor, or anylines for the sake of making a leak, the AC works fine. and I dont want to mess it up. What do you think I should do????

Also, Its a DX and it looks lik if I drop the motor from the bottom it looks like the intake mani Is going to hit the top of the Cross member where the steering rack is. Am I seeing something wrong????

I havent worked on one of these since way back in the day.. But I'd just disconnect the ac then fill back up.. I think it'l be a bitch to drop without having that stuff removed.. and you can slide it around the pinion rack pretty well

1. recover the refrigerant.
2. Remove compressor and refrigerant lines.
3. Reinstall compressor/refrigerant lines
4. Install new drier.
5. Remove non-condensables (if pressure rises after vacuum pump is turned off, you got a leak)
6. charge system.

just un mount the compressor, get some rope and tie the compressor and hoses to the radiator support (radiator out of car of course) just tie it far enough so that u have room to pull/install the swap...

this way u dont have to mess with eth ac crap, u just unbolt it then bolt it back on, no leak issues or anything

pulling an engine out is an easy thing i swapped a b18c in mine and i never took the radiator out.

Nerologic has the right idea.

On all my swaps, I just unbolt the compressor and have someone hold it out of the way while i pull the motor.

Then i set the compressor back down on top of a jackstand in the relative location it should be in until the new motor is ready to go in. That way you don't put any stress on any of the rubber lines.

I have always used some strong mechanics wire and just
tied the compressor up out of the way..

Use a couple the bolts that hold the radiator brackets to tie off to..

Seems like on just about any 4 cylinder honda, if you maneuver it just right you can sit it on top of the radiator support. This is how i do it on all the engines i have to pull at work..
