question on cf hoods...do they make ones that come with a latch?

Default question on cf hoods...do they make ones that come with a latch?

seems like all thes shops i ask about a cf hood, they all say no latch then again there no name brand hoods..wondering if any company maybe vis? makes hoods with latchs? for the civic/crx.


also if anyone can throw any links to any sites id appreciate it

well..i have a ViS c/f hood and..i had to use my stock latch from my old hood on there but it bolts right up like oem..hope this helps(if youre looking to get a c/f hood and dont have a latch the junkyard or parts recycler is your best bet)

i've heard that the reason most companies say to use hood pins is there is a chance (although it is slim) of the skin seperating from the framework underneeth. If this happens, hood pins will keep it in place.

you need to bolt up your stock hatch to your new hood. you may need to add washers to make the fit perfecto. if you take your time and adjust it all the new hood will look awesome. also, i've had my VIS hood since august and the skin hasn't separated or anything. i don't have hood pins because i don't like them and find them unnecessary. if you don't like the way they look you don't need them. also... make sure you buy a nice hood so the weave is nice looking. good luck

the c/f hood i got for my accord had the latch on it, its a vis, but im sure that they make hoods for rex's wit latch

i dont think so crx/hatch latchs are a little difernt i belive

i found this one that has the holes for a latch so ud have to take urs out of o.e. hood and bolt it in

on my hood i just unbolted my stock latch from my stock hood and bolted it to the new one. i havent seen one with the latch there yet. i also used pins just in case the latch were to fail.
