Hi folks, what are your thoughts and experiences of the pictured HKS cam gear. I've heard that the 3 bolt cam gears are dangerous and prone to slipping which will result in unimaginable damage to engine internals. Thanks and cheers.

 

but then again HKS makes good products......maybe their cam gears are better than others with 3 bolts?

 

I would think so, because this is the successor to the old 4 bolt cam gear they used to produce. Cheers! I'm wondering if anybody has this in their ITR and comments would be handy.

 

Well, first off on ANY camgear you should tighten them down correctly, and check them often. But I would feel safer with more bolts.

hmm...Are you sure that cam gear is for Honda's? (I don't see a cam key slot).

 

I think those are for Toyota or Nissan, the ones for Honda have 4 bolts and they don't look that good.

 

If you're right then I'll miss out on a great ricing opportunity. hehe.
