how to check if there is gas in the oil?

Default how to check if there is gas in the oil?

like the title says i was checking my oil level and my friend smelled the rag and said there maybe gas seeping in my oil. where could gas get into the oil? and how can i check to see if there realy is gas in the oil?

The oil would be thinner than normal if it was substancial.

Smell it. If it's gassy, you should be able to tell.

If you can't tell and still suspect it, send it in to Blackstone to get a professional analysis.

thanks guys ill try that and if i am getting gas in there what are the most comon resons for it? the motor has always gotten an oil change every 3k with only full syntetic and its only at about 80,xxx miles

It's almost always due to either really bad rings or scoured cylinder walls.

..yes, A compresion test is allways a good test when something is wrong with the motor.
