Me and a bunch of friends went up to canada tonight. We were hauling *** up there, first time radar started going nuts and cop was in the center of the freeway waiting. I was able to slow down time thankfully.

The second time I thought I was busted for sure. Me and two other cars were hauling and the cop was going to oppsite direction, radar went nutz...slow way the down, cop went by, then flips his lights and busts the car behind me.

Damn I was sh!ting my pants.

I not going to speed ANYMORE.....not worth it!

What kind of radar detector were you using?

 

You would've been dead if he caught you. Radar is not legal in Canada and we have detectors for them too !

I forget what this radar detector is called but, it says if you get pulled over for speeding and you were using their detector, they will pay the ticket. I think the thing cost about 400-500 bucks off ebay.

They are perfectly legal in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

I love my radar, saved my *** a couple of times.

 

My freinds cobra model...it didn't give us much warning, but it worked..

 

I was in the States while using the radar. The board patrol lady didn't stay a word about it. I had gone the speed limit every since that second cop encounter in the states. I saw the signs up along the freeway that said no radar. Plus not radar detectors have that anti detector stuff, I think its called AG2 or something.

I just learned speeding isn't worth it. The scare was good enough for me.

Sorry about the misinformation, i was under the impression all provinces had banned radar. Well, to correct myself, radar is definetly banned in Toronto.

Most new radars have radar detector protection, but all they do is beep twice and shutdown when the feel the precense of the detector.

Also I don't think the border guard would've said anything about you entering ontario with the detector, I would'nt think they would care...but a cop on the other hand...

 

radar detector is a good thing but main thing is to think then you drive and know what your local police is using, but of all radar detectors there is only 2 normal :

BEL 980
and
Escort Passport 8500
all others is bullsh*t
maybe couple whistlers is ok because of their price

i saw the radar test.. EXCELLENT article. The valentine one was the only detector that did NOT want to submit their radar to the tests...the people writing the article stated that

by the way 1 of the best purchases i made lately was esscort 8500 realy cool thing, almost no fake alrams, and realy sensetive, my frieng has bel 980 and it is verry good as well, i had cobra top of the line before and it is piece of crap

 

i have the bel 980 and it saved my assets a lot of times. specially when i drove from chicago to florida and back............
the best $250.oo dollars i ever spend..............................

 

i have gotten 6 speeding tickets so i needed to get a radar detector i got the Escort 8500....WOW its the best $215 i ever spent...(i got a discount)!!!
