98 Accord LX sohc vtec CEL...Cat problem but no solution?
Hey all, my dad's got a 98 accord lx with the vtec motor in it, and it recently threw a cel. The car's got like 130k on it. The cel was cat related (he just had a generic code scanner)
Anywho, he replaced the upper o2 sensor, and that fixed the problem for a couple weeks, then the cell came back. He thought it might be a clogged cat, so he made a pressure tester and put it in the before cat o2 bung...less than 1psi, so the cat isn't clogged...
Any suggestions? I'll talk to him again to get specifics on what he found...
Thanks in advance!

dealers have to warranty emission related problems up to eight years so try taking it to a dealer and see what they say. (just a thought)

Sounds like you're out of luck. Still, how hard is it to call a dealer & ask? Maybe there's some kinda extension?
