i bought a set of pr3's made by nippon. they seem to have near oem quality. i had to choose between real oem itr's and the nippon pr3's. i picked the itr's becuase the quality was better. but the nippons are very good for the price.

I heard they are not good from a reliable source I have. But I haven't seen them in person.

can you better define "not good" and the context in which the source's remarks were made?

not good...because the supplied nippon rings suck?
not good...because the tolerances are off?
not good...because the ringlands failed on a 220+ whp NA B-series build-up?
not good...because the ringlands failed on a 140+ whp NA D-series build-up?

I ran .5 over Nippon PR3's in a b18. With the nippon rings. No complaints. 200 whp. If its the same guy selling them that sold them to me, hes a really cool guy. Sells gaskets too. LS headgasket for 35 bucks. And he carries bearings. King bearings. I ran those too, no problems.
